🌏 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction - October 13, 2025

Over the past five decades, the frequency and intensity of natural disasters have risen dramatically worldwide, a consequence of climate change, environmental degradation, and unsustainable resource management. To raise awareness and promote proactive action, the United Nations designated October 13 as the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR).
In 2025, the UN highlights the theme “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters”, sending a powerful message:
👉 Invest in prevention and preparedness, rather than reacting only after disasters strike.
🌿 Disasters become more devastating when the environment is fragile, and that is why living green and sustainably is our natural shield for resilience.

♻️ Reduce waste, especially single-use plastics – to prevent blocked waterways, protect ecosystems, and curb emissions driving climate change.
🌳 Plant and protect trees – to stabilize soil, retain water, and prevent erosion.
💧 Use resources responsibly – to reduce exploitation pressure and maintain ecological balance.

Let’s join GreenHub in sowing the seeds of a greener, more resilient lifestyle today,
so that each of us can become part of the shield protecting our communities from disasters.
