On the morning of June 16, the award ceremony, preliminary ceremony of the contest “Bac Tu Liem women join hands to reduce plastic waste” phase 1 – 2022 took place under the organization of GreenHub in collaboration with the Women’s Union of Bac Tu Liem district. The award ceremony closes the first six months of the project “Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution” (LSPP) accompanying the Women’s Union and also marking the transformation of new activities in the future.
The contest took place in 3 months and achieved remarkable results:
Not only stopping at collecting, the contest opened up opportunities for women in the Women’s Union to promote their creativity and ingenuity. From water bottles and boxes, the members decorated beautifully into plant pots, flower pots placed in school and city campuses, and plastic ropes were reused to knit shopping bag. By turning plastic waste into useful items, we hope to raise awareness for residents in the area.
At the Award Ceremony, GreenHub and the District Women’s Union awarded prizes to 13 wards and honored 13 individuals with contributions in the Contest.
The activity is organized within the scope of the project “Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution” (LSPP) sponsored by USAID under the program “Vietnam Local Works for Environmental Health”, implemented by GreenHub and 03 partners (ISPONRE, HUPH-VOHUN, GIMASYS).
